Porcelain Veneers are an Excellent Way to Enhance Your Smile

If you are unhappy with your smile, the effects can be significant. Dr. Philip V. Goduco offers beautifully fabricated, customized porcelain veneers at our office in Vernon Hills, IL, for patients who are concerned with chips, gaps, and other imperfections in their smile. Our veneers fit seamlessly over the front of your teeth and are color-matched to closely resemble your natural enamel. Although there are a variety of cosmetic options to choose from, porcelain veneers offer the most dramatic results and a completely natural-looking smile.

WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?

Porcelain veneers are custom-made shells of medical-grade ceramic that are affixed to the front of the teeth. Veneers can be used to mask a wide range of cosmetic imperfections such as chips or cracks, crooked teeth, small gaps, and stains that do not respond to professional teeth whitening treatments.
Although there are a variety of cosmetic options to choose from, porcelain veneers offer the most dramatic results.
Traditional veneers require the removal of a small amount of enamel, whereas minimal-prep veneers require little, if any, structure to be removed.

DETERMINING WHETHER VENEERS ARE RIGHT FOR YOU

If your teeth are discolored, chipped, cracked, crooked, gapped, misshapen, or uneven, you may be a candidate for porcelain veneers. To qualify for traditional veneers, you will need to have a sufficient amount of tooth enamel. If you lack sufficient enamel, you may be a candidate for minimal-prep veneers, however these can look bulky, so they many not be appropriate for everyone.

You must be in good periodontal health and be free of any cavities or other oral health conditions prior to cosmetic treatment. You should also be committed to regular check-ups and good oral hygiene. To achieve your desired results, you should come to your consultation with specific treatment goals in mind and realistic expectations.
