dental technology

Our use of the latest dental technology helps improve patient comfort and helps us treat oral health issues more conservatively.

DIAGNOdent Dental Laser

With DIAGNOdent, Dr. Philip V. Goduco can diagnose dental decay before it causes visible damage or discomfort. The innovative laser can measure the level of fluorescence in a healthy tooth. Dr. Goduco will compare your other teeth to this base reading. As he does, he will look for abnormally high levels of fluorescence. DIAGNOdent is quick, non-invasive, very accurate, and helps us provide effective treatment before you experience significant decay.

iTero® Digital Impressions

The iTero® scanner produces digital 3-D images of all of your teeth. This system eliminates the need for messy, uncomfortable impressions. Dr. Goduco can also instantly display the images on an exam room computer to explain your oral health and procedure options. iTero® is particularly helpful during Invisalign® treatment. Dr. Goduco can use the images to design comfortable aligner trays that will effectively straighten your teeth.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays can capture pictures of isolated teeth or your entire jaw. Dr. Goduco can use the x-rays to look for dental misalignment, impacted teeth, cavities, and other concerns. Digital x-rays are much sharper than standard film x-rays. We can also significantly and accurately magnify these images for more exact diagnoses and restorative treatment. In addition, digital imaging exposes patients to only a fraction of the radiation of traditional methods.

Visualize Your Smile

Dr. Philip V. Goduco uses the latest dental technology. It helps him precisely place dental implants and to allow patients a digital preview of their smile before they proceed with treatment. He also uses nickel titanium tools for root canal therapy because it is flexible and produces better results.

Intraoral Dental Camera

It can be difficult to see all the details and areas of your teeth, particularly on your back molars or behind fillings. With an intraoral camera, Dr. Goduco can take pictures of these teeth, and he will project the images on a computer screen. In this way, he can check for small surface cavities, chips, hairline cracks, and other dental damage. Our intraoral camera is very small, ensuring the imaging process can be quick and stress-free.

BIOLASE® WaterLase

Dr. Goduco can use the WaterLase dental laser to perform a wide range of hard and soft tissue treatments. These procedures include gum contouring, crown lengthening, and preparing your tooth for a restoration. WaterLase emits high power laser energy, which will remove unwanted tissue without vibrations, friction, or unpleasant noises. At the same time, streams of air and water will help eliminate tissue and soothe the surrounding area.

The Wand®

You may find the injection of anesthesia to be very intimidating. The Wand® is a computer-controlled anesthesia delivery system that makes injections far more comfortable. This device can measure the density of your oral tissues, and can provide a precisely calculated stream of medication. The Wand® will regulate the flow of anesthesia, resulting in a virtually pain-free injection. In addition, the medications will remain localized, rather than spreading to other parts of your jaw or soft tissues.
