Sedation Dentistry – Relax Through Your Dental Visit With Safe, Effective Sedation Options
If fear or anxiety has been keeping you away from the dentist, you're not alone — and you're not without options. Dental anxiety affects millions of people and is one of the leading reasons patients delay or avoid care altogether. The result? Small problems become bigger, more costly ones.
Sedation dentistry changes that equation entirely. Whether you experience mild nervousness or severe dental phobia, our sedation options allow you to receive the care you need in a calm, comfortable, and stress-free environment — often completing multiple treatments in a single visit.
Our team is specially trained in sedation techniques and patient comfort. We'll work with you to find the right level of sedation for your needs, your health history, and the procedure at hand.
Who Is Sedation Dentistry For?
You Deserve Comfortable Dental Care — Regardless of Your History
Patients With Dental Anxiety or Phobia
If the thought of sitting in a dental chair triggers genuine fear, sweating, or avoidance behavior, sedation can make the difference between getting care and going without it.
Patients With a Strong Gag Reflex
A sensitive gag reflex can make even routine procedures uncomfortable and difficult to complete. Sedation significantly reduces the reflex, allowing treatment to proceed smoothly.
Patients Needing Extensive or Multiple Procedures
Sedation allows us to safely complete several procedures in one appointment — saving you time, reducing the number of office visits, and minimizing overall discomfort.
Patients With High Pain Sensitivity
Some people require more anesthesia than average to achieve adequate numbing. Sedation provides an added layer of comfort for patients who have had difficulty getting fully numb in the past.
Types of Sedation We Offer
Find the Right Level of Relaxation for Your Needs
- Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) – The lightest form of sedation, inhaled through a small mask placed over the nose. It produces a feeling of calm and mild euphoria, wears off within minutes after the mask is removed, and allows most patients to drive themselves home afterward
- Oral Conscious Sedation – A prescription medication taken by mouth about an hour before your appointment. You'll remain conscious and able to respond to instructions, but feel deeply relaxed and drowsy — most patients have little to no memory of the procedure
- IV Sedation – Administered directly into the bloodstream for faster onset and a deeper level of sedation. Ideal for longer procedures, multiple treatments in one visit, or patients with significant dental anxiety. Requires a driver to accompany you home
- General Anesthesia – The deepest level of sedation, used for complex oral surgeries or patients with special needs. Administered and monitored by an anesthesiologist in a fully equipped clinical setting
During your consultation, we'll review your medical history, discuss your concerns, and recommend the sedation option that's safest and most appropriate for you.
